Your Own Windrow Worm Farm
Your own windrow worm farm can produce up to 1000 litres every fortnight. The following is a rough outline of costs — for more information click the Contact tab.
- Need slope minimum 3.5 to 4 Degrees
- Access to non-town water (no chlorine)
- Front end loader (or ability to hire/borrow one)
- 7 IBCs
- Roll of high impact plastic or cement pad
- Rhino board if not using concrete
- High impact tap
- Drip lines
- Collection pipe and poly
- Small petrol pump
- Compressor and pump for fermentation tank ~$500
- Truck load stable waste (50 ton) or similar to create base windrows — needs to be 60:40 carbon to food (not chicken waste)
- Truckload (10 cubic m) of worm windrow containing millions of worms from Yass Worm Farms
- 55 micron filter
- Various fittings
- Consulting fees — see below for more details
- Freight
- Humic Acid
Estimated Costs: $7,000 to $10,000 depending on location. I would supply all the information you need — access to supplies and full continuing instructions — but you would need to do the setup work yourself. — James Brown
